Global Equality supports May Day

Global Equality supports May Day

Global Equality will be participating in the Occupy-sponsored May Day celebrations in Denver, Co. May Day has historically been a day where workers express their solidarity with each other and express their grievances against the system. In recent years, May Day has  become a day where migrants and other marginalized communities try to get their voices heard.

The world is a mess: endless wars, poverty, famines, ecological destruction. The vast majority of humanity barely survive. Our environment is poisoned. Recently, the Fukushima disaster, the worst nuclear disaster in history, threatens the health of the entire hemisphere. The system has stolen our health and dignity. We are turned into zombies, brainwashed by a dumbed-down mass culture. The system kills everything human in us. It kills our creative spirit. It prevents us from living up to our potential. Enough is enough! Ya Basta!

Although Global Equality has expressed friendly criticism of the Occupy movement, especially its populist and American-centered rhetoric, Global Equality will be speaking and holding teach-ins on the problems in our world stemming from inequality on the global level and the non-sustainability of the current system. We have always stood for the decolonization of all movements that we encounter. We thank all the organizers for this opportunity to get our message out. Another world is possible, an equal world is possible! Equality and sustainability! The only solution is global revolution!
